The Color Block Tassel Dress drew my eye immediately. This classic shirt dress is spiced up with trendy blocks of tangerine and hot pink. A mandarin style collar and tassel belt add the finishing touches to this special piece.

The polyester/spandex fabric has a medium weight and falls nicely. The Color Block Dress is easy to throw on, doesn't wrinkle much, and looks gorgeous.

Accessorize – To play up the colors in this dress, I added a few simple accessories; an oversized gold/pink ring and earrings, as well as bright orange polish.

The bright colors and fun patterns of Alegria shoes allow every woman to show off her unique personality. They have many styles from clogs to boots and professional shoes, but I was most excited about the sandals in the new spring collection.

I'm an elementary school teacher and am on my feet a lot, so comfort is improtant to me. I have lots of shoes that are gorgeous but too painful to wear more then a few hours. I want cute shoes that can be worn all day, and that is what Alegria specializes in.

The Bronze Baliwood, pictured above, has become my new favorite sandal. It features hand stiched beading and embedded rhinestones. The Baliwood is made with leather and appears to be very sturdy and well constructed. The arch support makes this pair even more comfortable then my other flip flops as well. I have been wearing them for a few days now and love how they feel!

There is a new trend in footwear this summer, platform sandals. They're a perfect compromise; the height of a heel and the stability and comfort of a flat.

The Helen Wedge, a platform sandal from Dolce Vita (sold at MeringueClothing.com) is a gorgeous example of this style.

I couldn't pass by this sandal; the striking color, rope detail and cute ankle strap with a gold buckle drew me in. I loved the one-of-kind design, but I need shoes that can be worn without pain more then a few hours.  I put the Helen Wedge to the test on saturday while doing my weekly grocery shopping.  My only complaint was the strap tended to constrict my ankle, otherwise they were comfortable and very easy to walk in.

Leggings have come back with such enthusiasm it's hard not to notice. This trend has been popular for a few years now, and for most of that time I just didn't get the appeal. Why had the leggings I wore as a child returned as a beloved wardrobe staple for so many women?

I understood a few weeks ago when I tried a pair for the first time since the early 90's. Now I see why everyone loves them; they're comfortable, accommodating, and look beautiful with baggy tops and too-short dresses. I think the problem is that it is so easy to go wrong with leggings.

Rule of thumb: Leggings are not pants. If you wouldn't wear an outfit with tights, don't wear it with leggings.

There are so many cute ways to wear leggings – just avoid anything too sheer, too shiny, or pairing with a top that is too short and you will be fine!

Tip: In response to the comments, here's an idea if you are shorter. Try matching your shoes and long leggings. The solid color will help elongate your legs.
